- Blizzard has revealed more information about Patch 11.1.7 of World of Warcraft, titled Legacy of Arathor.
- The patch is currently in development but will be released on the PTR soon.
- The Turbulent Timeways and Greedy Emissary events will return in the new update.
On May 1, World of Warcraft pulled back the curtain on Patch 11.1.7, Legacy of Arathor, which will take players back to the Arathi Highlands to de-escalate rising tensions between the Alliance and the Horde. World of Warcraft will also bring back the Turbulent Timeways and Greedy Emissary events, and add Battle for Azeroth dungeons to the Timewalking rotation.
World of Warcraft‘s Legacy of Arathor update will keep up Blizzard’s ongoing trend of improving the user interface and making some add-on features part of the baseline game experience. One of Patch 11.1.7’s main headlines is the Combat Assistant feature, designed after the popular add-on Hekili. When activated, Combat Assistant allows certain spell and ability icons to glow on the hotbars, which suggests which button to push during combat. The Combat Assistant can be modified into a Single-Button Assistant function, which will cast the next recommended spell or ability in a sequence. However, using Single-Button Assist comes at the cost of a slightly increased global cooldown.

World of Warcraft Shares First Legacy Of Arathor Update Details
- World of Warcraft’s 11.1.7 update, Legacy of Arathor, will take players to the Arathi Highlands.
- An escalating situation between the Alliance and the Horde will be told from two faction-based perspectives.
- Battle for Azeroth Timewalking dungeons will be added in Patch 11.1.7.
- The Turbulent Timeways and Greedy Emissary events will return during Legacy of Arathor.
The new Arathi quests will be told from two unique perspectives, each based on the player’s faction, with the Stromgarde and Mag’har Tabards as rewards. Legacy of Arathor will introduce a new Delve-exclusive affix called Overcharged, which will add new challenges to Delves and some rewards for players who overcome them. According to World of Warcraft‘s 2025 roadmap, Legacy of Arathor will arrive later in spring, with Patch 11.2 slated for the summer.
Legacy of Arathor will also see the return of the Turbulent Timeways and Greed Emissary events. While the former will allow players to level alternate characters quickly, the latter will offer recolors of class armor sets distributed during World of Warcraft‘s 20th Anniversary event. Some of Battle for Azeroth‘s best dungeons, including Freehold, Atal’Dazar, and Waycrest Manor, will be added to the Timewalking rotation.
While Battle for Azeroth‘s Timewalking event is active, new rewards will be available from vendors in Boralus and Dazar’alor. Given the player backlash that World of Warcraft‘s Nightfall update received, Legacy of Arathor has an interesting road ahead.
