Following a two-week delay in Switch 2 pre-orders due to the Trump administration’s tariffs on global imports, third-party retailers Walmart, Best Buy, and Target took pre-orders at midnight Eastern on April 24. However, the Switch 2 pre-order window proved chaotic, as all three retailers’ websites were marred by technical problems due to the sheer volume of traffic from legitimate customers and bots alike. Although some users were successful in this endeavor, the first wave of Switch 2 pre-orders was completely gone within hours.
