Jagex is giving players a peek at the content coming in the next RuneScape: Dragonwilds update, which will provide a much-needed fix for Velgar. There is no official release date for Update 0.7.3 of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, but players who have been frustrated by the dragon’s meteors are in for some relief when it goes live sometime within the next few days.
At just a little over two weeks since its early access launch, RuneScape: Dragonwilds has been a success for Jagex. Eschewing the MMORPG format that RuneScape has been associated with for the past 24 years, the open-world survival game that shares the same lore has been drawing in big numbers, with more than 50,000 concurrent players at its all-time peak and frequent updates despite its very recent launch on April 15.

8 Beginner Tips For RuneScape Dragonwilds
Here is a list of useful tips and secret mechanics in RuneScape Dragonwilds you should know about before playing the game.
Surviving attacks from dragons in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is one of the game’s most challenging aspects, and at least until the launch of the Fellhollow region, there’s none more dangerous than Velgar. While the boss dragon is meant to provide a tough encounter, one possibly unintended feature was the ability of its meteor attacks to go straight through the roofs of players’ bases, giving them nowhere to take shelter. A set of preview notes for the next update, posted on the game’s official Steam page, implies that some changes are coming to Velgar’s meteors, stating that they should be “less of a problem now” when players are concealed under their bases’ roofs. Jagex did not specify whether that meant roofs would provide full protection from Velgar’s attacks in the future, but there should be at least some sort of a boon for players coming in the next few days.
This will not have been the first tweak Jagex has made to make encounters with Velgar easier to handle. Patch notes for an earlier RuneScape: Dragonwilds update from about a week ago nerfed the dragon general’s attacks significantly. These changes included reducing the number of meters from five to two, as well as limiting its poison breath attacks to only occur while it is performing strafing runs.
There are a couple of other things coming in the next update, including the addition of cloud saves, which Jagex reports is another highly requested feature based on player feedback. Several other minor changes are also coming, including fixes for stability, immunities, XP balancing, typos in the journal, and a bug that had been interfering with quest completion while players have full inventories. There has been no announcement yet of the rumored addition of a large PvPvE map in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, though Jagex has been gauging players’ opinions on such an area through an official player survey.

Velgar Meteor Fix
When you are in your base and have protection overhead then meteors raining down from the Scaly Scourge should be less of a problem now. Any more of that and we’d have had to end up crafting an umbrella.
