Summary
- The Undertaker and Cody Rhodes join Fortnite as playable characters.
- Both WWE stars will have unique cosmetics and will be available in the shop on April 18.
- The release coincides with 2025’s WrestleMania event.
Fortnite is adding The Undertaker and Cody Rhodes, two of WWE’s biggest stars, as playable characters in time for WrestleMania weekend. Epic’s massive multiplayer battle royale has become a seemingly never-ending source of crossovers thanks to the many special guest character skins that have been added to Fortnite over the years. Even famous WWE wrestlers-turned-Hollywood-megastars The Rock and John Cena have been featured as Fortnite skins, though in The Rock’s case only as fictional characters he played.
Other WWE performers like Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair have graced Fortnite as themselves, and earlier this week, a rumor suggested that a couple more could now join them: the legendary WWE Hall-of-Fame member The Undertaker and currently reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Both have been featured in numerous WWE 2K entries, as well as crossover appearances in other games like Brawlhalla and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Fortnite Cody Rhodes and The Undertaker Release Date and Time
- April 18, 2025
- 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific
This WWE-themed Fortnite content is being released the day before WrestleMania, the annual two-night event that serves as one of WWE’s biggest shows. Both Cody Rhodes and The Undertaker have significant ties to WrestleMania. Before his retirement as an active in-ring competitor in 2020, The Undertaker held a record undefeated streak at WrestleMania from 1991 to 2013 that has made him near-synonymous with the event. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes won his first WWE Championship at last year’s WrestleMania, even getting assistance from The Undertaker to do so.
Now Cody Rhodes is set to defend his title during the second night of WrestleMania against John Cena, who just so happens to have his own Fortnite character skin. Perhaps Fortnite players will have their own previews of Sunday night’s main event once The American Nightmare makes his debut on the Island later this week, or even stage a WrestleMania-style face-off between The Undertaker and the Foundation or Black Adam (both of which are portrayed by The Rock).
