Raider is the latest Elden Ring Nightreign class to be revealed in the lead-up to the game’s highly anticipated launch. A battle royale-like co-op multiplayer experience, Elden Ring Nightreign teams players up in a squad of three to explore an ever-shifting alternate version of Elden Ring‘s starting area, Limgrave, over the course of three in-game days with the ultimate goal of taking down the Nightlord.
Dubbed the Nightfarers, Elden Ring Nightreign‘s eight playable launch heroes have fixed appearances. This is contrary to nearly all of FromSoftware’s Souls games, which commonly allow players to create and customize a character. Instead, all eight of Nightreign‘s characters serve as their own classes with distinct abilities, but will still have flexibility in being able to wield different types of weapons depending on how players build out the heroes during a run. So far, FromSoftware has revealed Wylder, an all-rounder and the face of Nightreign, Guardian, the hawk-headed heavy sentinel, Recluse, Nightreign‘s resident spellcaster, Duchess, the fast-paced dexterity-based assassin, and Ironeye, the skilled archer.

Why Elden Ring Nightreign’s Story Could Redefine the Erdtree’s Mythos
While the Erdtree is treated as the central axis of divine order in Elden Ring, its absence in Nightreign leaves questions about its true purpose.
FromSoftware has continued its sixth Elden Ring Nightreign character reveal, this time showcasing a heavy hero named Raider. While the exact skills and abilities Raider will have to offer have yet to hit Nightreign‘s official website, a lot can be gleaned from the character’s over-minute-long gameplay trailer. Donning what appear to be Omen horns, Raider is shown throughout the trailer crushing foes with a massive hammer, indicating he’s an alternate heavy option for Nightreign players next to Guardian.
Elden Ring Nightreign Raider Class Revealed
It seems one of Raider’s bigger abilities will be able to benefit not just himself, but teammates as well. In the trailer, Raider can be seen summoning a large block underneath his position that raises him up several feet, giving him high ground. An allied Ironeye can then be seen climbing up the block to take advantage of the higher positioning, raining down fire on enemies from up high. Fellow ranged hero Recluse should also be able to make great use of the ability, as spellcasting in Elden Ring requires sufficient spacing from aggressive targets. Another of Raider’s abilities briefly shown in the trailer sees the hero take some sort of special stance that allows him to eat a blow from an attacker and clap back with a hard-hitting headbutt.
With six of the eight Elden Ring Nightreign heroes revealed, there are two left to go on the road to the game’s launch next month on May 30. Since only a week separated Raider’s unveiling from the prior Duchess gameplay reveal, the next character trailer could be dropped by FromSoftware as soon as next week. Whether it’s the sword-wielding knight character seen in Nightreign‘s initial reveal trailer or the completely mysterious eighth never-before-seen character, fans will just have to keep an eye on FromSoftware’s social media to find out.
