Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has added several new packs to the game as part of its April 2025 update, introducing a new Selection Pack and four different Secret Packs. The popular digital trading card game from Konami has regularly made updates to its cardpool, introducing a plethora of new cards from the physical version. Each month typically adds one to two new Selection Packs featuring an assortment of brand-new cards, while Konami will often unban older cards and introduce them to Master Duel for the first time. Now, April is set to bring a plethora of new cards.
Beyond the monthly Selection Packs, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s “Secret Packs” typically serve as one of the most reliable ways for players to build different decks. Secret Packs each center around one to three different in-game archetypes, allowing players to open more focused packs when designing a deck around a particular theme. Konami has also occasionally updated older Secret Packs with new cards, making building new decks for older themes that much easier. Now, Master Duel has not only added a new Selection Pack but several new Secret Packs.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel’s April 2025 banlist update is hitting one of the digital trading card game’s most powerful Extra Deck monsters.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel officially rolled out its newest packs on Thursday, introducing one new Selection Pack and four new Secret Packs to the game. “Onslaught of Emperors” introduces several new themes to the game, including the new “Primite” archetype and updated support for the popular “Shark” deck featured in the Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL anime. The Selection Pack also adds several powerful individual cards used by prominent decks, like “Necroquip Princess” as an option for the “Fiendsmith” archetype. “Onslaught of Emperors” will be available through the in-game shop for two months, set to rotate out on June 4.

Master Duel‘s new Secret Packs will allow players to more easily acquire cards for a wide variety of themes. The Shark cards in the Selection Pack have also received their own Secret Pack with “Overlay of Obsidian Armor,” while the popular “Centur-Ion” theme received the “True Awakening of the Oathbound Knights” pack. The “Vaalmonica” and “Majespecter” decks serve as the featured archetypes in “Agathokakologically Whispered Fates,” while “Forgotten Underworld” focuses on the “Mementotlan” and “Thunder Dragon” decks. Players can also obtain one free pack of each Secret Pack while they are featured in the shop.
Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has seen some major shake-ups in its competitive meta throughout recent months, thanks to plenty of powerful new cards. A March infographic showed dominant debuts for two recent archetypes, with both “Mulcharmy” and “Fiendsmith” featuring several entries in Master Duel‘s most-played cards. The game’s banlist has also made a major impact, with powerful cards like “Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal” and Pot of Prosperity” removed from the game. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s array of new packs will make plenty of popular decks even easier for players to pick up.
