Persona 5 Fan Shows Off Panther Cosplay

A Persona 5 fan created a Shujin Academy cosplay of one of the game’s main characters, Ann “Panther” Takamaki, and shared a picture of their handiwork from a convention. The Persona 5 fan stated that Ann was her favorite female character from the game, and stated the cosplay was enjoyable to make and wear.

As one of the first Persona 5 party members to join the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, Ann Takamaki is known for her distinct platinum blonde hair, light blue eyes, and kind personality that is tempered by a willingness to help others in need. Ann awakens as a Persona user in Kamoshida’s Palace, as Carmen causes her to embrace her inner self. Under the guise of Panther, Ann’s personality is more energetic, and her desire to see abusers being punished for their crimes is amplified. Ann’s quotable moments and her loyalty to Joker and the Phantom Thieves make her one of the most well-liked characters in the Persona series so far.

Though Ann’s Phantom Thief outfit is a standout part of her wardrobe, a Persona 5 fan took another of Ann’s looks and crafted an impressive cosplay out of it. On the r/Persona subreddit, a Korean user named M_anim_ shared their cosplay of Ann Takamaki that they wore to a convention in early 2024. Ann’s Shujin Academy outfit was the main focus of the cosplay, which features a white sports hoodie underneath a black school uniform jacket with the Academy’s seal on the left side. The hoodie also had a clover patch on the hood, which hung over the Shujin jacket. Ann’s Shujin outfit also included a red and black pleated skirt covered by the bottom half of the hoodie, coupled with red leggings and brown ankle-height boots. For Ann’s distinct hairstyle, M_anim_ wore a platinum blonde wig with curled twin tails.

The OP also wore blue-tinted contact lenses to complete the cosplay. M_anim_ posed for a picture at a Korean convention, which was shared on social media for all to see. In her r/Persona cosplay post, M_anim_ stated that Ann is her favorite Persona 5 character and that the Shujin cosplay was “pure joy” to create. In response, some Persona fans stated that the cosplay M_anim_ showed off was a spot-on replica of how Ann would look in reality.

One user asked how comfortable the hoodie was, and another complimented the OP’s makeup they used for the cosplay. As Persona fans wait for potential series news at the Xbox Games Showcase, it remains to be seen what creations they will make next.
