  • Arakko’s importance in the mutant lore of Krakoa makes the new map rumor likely to be true.

A Marvel Rivals leak indicates that Arakko will be the next map added to the game. With comic book heroes and villains playable characters, the Marvel Rivals maps also bring famous locations inspired by the comics to the games.

Marvel Rivals has 15 maps available so far. The first maps to debut in the hero shooter were Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Yggdrasill Path: Royal Palace, exploring iconic locations in Asgard. NetEase previously added four maps, Sanctum Sanctorum, Midtown, and Central Park, showing the chaos that ensued with Dracula’s invasion in the first season. Now, a new Marvel Rivals leak has been shared, revealing that another map inspired by a well-known comic book location could be coming to the game soon.

Marvel Rivals Adding New Free Skin

Marvel Rivals announces a new free skin, and reveals how players can obtain the cosmetic for one of its most popular characters.

Reputable leaker X0X_LEAK teased that Arakko will be the second map that Marvel Rivals will add in Season 2. According to them, new lore entries have been found in the game files: one talks about an attack on Krakoa, presumably from Ultron, with the attacker taking Cerebro and departing to Arakko. Another mentions the mutants of Krakoa losing contact with those in Arakko, and not even the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda being able to pinpoint the nation’s current location. The information was also claimed by Miller Ross, who had shared other Marvel Rivals leaks before, adding that the map will arrive on May 30 along with Ultron and the mid-season update.

New Marvel Rivals Map May Explore Arakko, Important Location in Mutant Lore

In the comics, Arakko was a sister mutant nation of Krakoa that was part of the sentient island of Okkara. After being attacked by the demon god Annihilation, Okkara was split into two parts – Krakoa and Arakko – with the latter being sealed off by Apocalypse, its leader, to prevent the demon troops from advancing. As with other leaks, players should consider the information with a grain of salt, as it could change until an official announcement is made. However, it’s worth noting that, given Arakko’s importance in Krakoa’s story—which is a key part of Marvel Rivals Season 2—the rumor has a significant chance of becoming reality.

While players wait for confirmation from NetEase, Marvel Rivals has a new map for fans to enjoy. Introduced at the start of Season 2, players can battle in Krakoa, the nation that hosts the Hellfire Gala. Available in Domination mode, Krakoa is a map with lush flora and symbolic landmarks such as the statue of Professor X, in which players fight to control strategic points and win the match.
