Overwatch 2 Stadium Gameplay Trailer Airing April 14

According to Overwatch 2 players who got to try out Stadium early, Stadium deliberately breaks the game by giving heroes insanely powerful abilities and upgrades. Some, like Reinhardt’s Fire Strike leaving a trail of lava or Reaper gaining free flight during Wraith Form, have been seen before in Overwatch 2 game modes like Junkenstein’s Laboratory, while others are brand new. Overwatch 2 has gone on record saying it hopes Stadium will become a permanent new pillar through which fans play the FPS, so it is clear Blizzard has high hopes for the game mode.

April 22 marks the start of Season 16, and the official addition of Stadium. 14 of the 43 heroes in Overwatch 2 will be available in the game mode starting in Season 16, with more planned to be added over time. In the week between April 14 and Season 16’s launch, players can expect to learn even more about the game mode, assumedly including the list of heroes, maps, and upgrades that will be used in Stadium.

Season 16 promises to be an exciting update for Overwatch 2, even without including Stadium. Freja, a highly-mobile new DPS hero, will officially be added to the game in the update, and fans can expect her to receive a few buffs to her kit based on feedback during her trial weekend. What’s more, several under- and over-performing Perks will be adjusted or replaced, and Overwatch 2 is keeping its 6v6 Open Queue available in both Quick Play and Competitive in Season 16 as well, so players will have no shortage of options to choose from when starting a match.
