Hogwarts Legacy brought both fans of the Harry Potter franchise and RPG lovers a magic-filled experience. The game proved to be one of the biggest hits of a packed gaming year, and the success of Hogwarts Legacy has made many eager for a sequel. Despite the game’s success, a second Hogwarts Legacy game still has plenty of room to improve, especially when it comes to referencing its franchise.
Missing Merpeople, the absence of certain spells, and no Quidditch made some aspects of Hogwarts Legacy feel empty, which will hopefully be addressed in a sequel. There are several potential improvements to be made in a follow-up, and one of those could be the inclusion of a Cloak of Invisibility. While Harry Potter’s version is special, it isn’t the only cloak that can be made invisible. If Hogwarts Legacy 2 were to make invisibility cloaks a common item to use for stealth, there could be some fun ways to help make the item balanced.

Invisibility Cloaks in Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Add a Fun Stealth Mechanic
Harry Potter’s Cloak of Invisibility is far more powerful than a run-of-the-mill charmed object, since it’s a Hallow, but cloaks that wear away over time could be a fun addition to Hogwarts Legacy 2. It’s important to note that Hogwarts Legacy does include the Disillusionment Charm, which acts in a similar way. A sequel could take a bold leap with the franchise’s lore, though, depending on the next game’s timeline, and fully embrace Harry’s actual cloak.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Make Use of the Potter Bloodline in an Indirect Way
Such a decision could prove controversial, but it’s possible that Hogwarts Legacy 2 features the same cloak gifted to Harry by Dumbledore. The Cloak of Invisibility is a Potter family heirloom, so depending on the sequel’s timeline, one of Harry’s ancestors could potentially have the item in their possession. In a hypothetical scenario, Hogwarts Legacy would have the opportunity to play around with a quest where players either have to steal the cloak in order to complete a mission or borrow it, depending on the player’s relationship with a member of the Potter family.

How Could Harry’s Cloak of Invisibility Avoid Feeling Overpowered?
Since this specific cloak doesn’t lose its charm, including it in Hogwarts Legacy 2 could make sneaking around feel far too easy. However, if the game were to increase the hearing and sight of surrounding Hogwarts Legacy 2 NPCs, it could prove to make using the Cloak of Invisibility a real challenge. Being forced to move slowly in order to avoid being heard might be the best way to add a sense of urgency when using such an object. The cloak could also potentially be limited to just a handful of missions.

The Wait For More Hogwarts Legacy May Be a While
- According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, Hogwarts Legacy‘s unannounced DLC has been canceled.
- An expanded version of Hogwarts Legacy that included cut content was also reportedly scrapped.
- It’s unclear if this will affect the Hogwarts Legacy sequel.
There was hope for more Hogwarts Legacy content this year, but restructuring going on at Warner Bros. has left a potential DLC on the cutting room floor. While these reports of no new DLC are disappointing, there is still hope for a sequel, at least for now.
Warner Bros. has had a rough time in the gaming space lately, but Hogwarts Legacy served as a silver lining for the company. There’s no telling what’s in store for a sequel, but embracing staple items like the Cloak of Invisibility could prove to be some solid fan service.
