Marvel Rivals to Release Characters Faster
Marvel Rivals reveals its second season and brings good news for players who want to see more characters coming to the shooter.
A new trailer released on the game’s official YouTube channel provides several stunning views of the upcoming Marvel Rivals map, and while it doesn’t show any action taking place or provide a contiguous layout, there are several visual elements that should make the area instantly recognizable to fans of the superhero franchise. Both indoor and outdoor locations are filled with lush vegetation, reflecting the mutant safe haven’s connection to nature, and there are abundant environmental changes between shots, featuring areas like glowing crystal caverns, rocky canyon valleys, and pristine waterfalls. Prominent mutants, including Magneto and Professor X, are well-represented among its statuary, and the living island’s tree-like visage can be found in one internal chamber.
Marvel Rivals Gives Seak Peek at Krakoa Map
While the addition of Krakoa provides a great location for the Hellfire Gala theme, it’s not the only treat that players have to look forward to. New playable characters Emma Frost and Ultron are coming to Marvel Rivals, with a previous trailer portraying Frost as the Gala’s host and Ultron as the event’s ultimate antagonist, attacking guests at the otherwise peaceful event with a flurry of robotic drones. A character-specific reveal trailer depicts Frost as a bulky Vanguard, making use of her diamond-hard skin and psychic abilities. There has been limited information on the villainous Ultron thus far, though more will likely be revealed prior to the season’s launch.
The new season will also include a second map, Yggsgard: Royal Palace, which will be available in Domination mode, though little information has been released about it so far. In addition to these features, the new season will mix things up with some Marvel Rivals team-up changes, which should have teams experimenting with new combinations of characters, and a brand-new Battle Pass filled with rewards for players to unlock as they compete in matches.
